BIKE BUILD

The Big Bike Build is an event held every year in San Jose, put on by the non-profit group “Turning Wheels For Kids.” Providing children with brand new bikes encourages life-long habits of exercise, outdoor activity and independence. Without this program, many children in our community would never have the opportunity to experience riding their very own, new bicycle. This event usually takes place in late November or early December, and provides a needed Holiday gift to many kids who would not otherwise receive anything due to financial hardships. Each year the Santa Clara Fire Department sends a team of approximately 10 volunteers to join the selfless, caring team of buildersto achieve the monumental task of building approximate 2,500 bikes in a single day. No bike building experience necessary! We will teach you everything there is to know aboutassembling kid’s bikes. Come out and work hard, while having fun, to make a real difference in the lives of many deserving kids! See you at the next Big Bike Build!
