DEAR RESIDENT, BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS

As President of the Santa Clara City Firefighters and on behalf of the members that make up our organization, I would like to thank you for visiting our website. Our goal was to create a platform that could serve as a communication and information hub for the community to reference.

The goal is to provide a greater understanding for the firefighters that serve your community. Since our founding in 1954, our organization has continued to work hand in hand with the citizens, businesses, community groups, local charities, as well as the City of Santa Clara for all matters related to our work as City employees.

Whether they’re on-duty or participating in one of our many public outreach events and programs our organization is composed of brave men and women who have chosen to serve the public 24-hours per day, 365-days per year. As a citizen of Santa Clara myself, it is extremely important that we not only are prepared for any emergency on-duty, but also that we are involved in our community and give back as much as possible. Your Santa Clara Firefighters volunteer a tremendous amount to our community here as well as in the communities where they live.

To be able to give back as much as possible, we formed the Santa Clara Firefighters Foundation in 2002. The Santa Clara Firefighters Foundation is the charitable arm of the Santa Clara Firefighters Local 1171 labor organization. Santa Clara Firefighters are affiliated with the I.A.F.F. (International Association of Fire Fighters). The Foundation is a fully authorized, non-profit charitable organization, 501(c)(3) that is committed to helping those in need within the City of Santa Clara, and others with special needs.

Your firefighters are deeply involved in community service. We feel truly honored to be part of a noble profession that has a long-standing reputation for helping anyone in need. Supporting these noble causes is one way for firefighters to give back to the community. Santa Clara and its citizens show strong support for their public safety providers. This is our way of returning our appreciation to the community for that support.
